Pat Parker was a nurse with the American military's air force division during World War II. Whenever the need arose, she would don a very skimpy costume and fight against espionage and other forms of enemy aggression as "War Nurse."

War Nurse possessed no superhuman abilities, but she did posses expert fighting skills, as well as an extensive background in nursing.

War Nurse originally worked solo, but she later lead a group of ladies known as the Girl Commandos.

Pat Parker, War Nurse, made her debut in the 12th issue of Speed Comics, adopting her costumed identity one issue later. She last appeared in costume in issue 26. The Girl Commandos first appeared in issue 24. With issue 27, the strip was retitled "Girl Commandos." The retitled feature ran through issue 35, with a special last issue appearance in no. 44. Girl Commandos also made an appearance in All New Comics no. 11.
