Well, that about wraps up the fourth issue of Pure Excitement Comics! All of the back issues are now available online -- but at several diverse locations. Head back to my main page for links to all of the other issues!
My new site, a Gallery of Golden Age Heroes, is also now up and running. See the link in the column to the left. I plan to update the gallery once a week (right...we'll see how long I can keep that up!)
If you enjoyed this issue (or not!) send in those letters to [email protected]. Your letter may be published in a future issue!
Here is a letter I received in response to the third issue:
INCREDIBLE, Bill!! Take a bow, buddy! I've only had time to cursorily check your site out, but I can tell I'm gonna love it! Hats off to you for taking the time to share such treasures! Would you like some scans from SPEED #6 (Shock Gibson) for future issues? LMK!
Lyle
Thanks, Lyle! I really appreciate the e-mails I receive from fellow fans who enjoy my web site(s). As for the offer of the donation, I've considered taking donations, but I'm not sure how practical that would be. I know how much effort I put
into scanning each story, so I wouldn't want to burden anyone else. Also, I'm not sure which format would be the best to use when e-mailling a significant number of relatively large images. It might kill my computer -- or at least tie up the phone line for awhile during the downloading! Thanks for the offer, tho', and
Shock Gibson will make an appearance in a future issue...once I get around to scanning the stories from my copy of Speed Comics No. 22.
See ya next month, everybody, when Pure Excitement Comics features three great female heroes of the Golden Age!
Hit Comics no. 49 takes center stage in this month's gallery. The cover
features my favorite Golden Age character, Kid Eternity, and his co-star, Mr. Keeper.
